09:42 pm - news about the CD
Lots of news has been piling up lately about my CD "Bitter Sweet"
Bitter Sweet is now available on iTunes, last.fm, napster.com, and cduniverse.com as well as a number of local stores in the Seattle area (like Gargoyles Statuary!).
It has gotten a couple of good reviews, and I think more are in the works:
"Seattle’s Celadon builds a gothic symphony of dark neo-classical electronics and instrumentals that serve as meditative ouvres." - ZapTown www.zaptownmag.com/2010/03/celadon-bitte
"Overall, 'Bitter Sweet' is a pretty decent release; it certainly has some good things going for it. I think Celadon needs just a wee bit more tempering, and maybe a full-time creative co-conspirator. " - Chain D.L.K
and here's a pic from a recent show I did with Sataray at Sunset Tavern in Seattle:

10:39 am - video, solo event, cds
I'll be doing a solo bass improv set at Gargoyles Statuary for the next art opening on March 19... Gargoyles is selling my new CDs and there will also be new art by two new fantasy artists.
Friday, March 19, 5 - 9 p.m.
Gargoyles Statuary, 4550 Univ Way NE, Seattle
FREE! Art! Gargoyles and other cool stuff!
Here's a video clip from last Saturday's show if you haven't seen it already - This is the first half of a short set by In the Deep Museum (Vanessa Skantze and myself) at the bonsoir Samdi event. It was great to do a set with her, we haven't performed as In the Deep Museum for quite a while. The second clip is also posted on my YouTube site.
...and a quick update on my new cd Bitter Sweet: it's currently available on my Web site via PayPal, it will be available on CDBaby.com by next Friday, and it's starting to get some airplay at community radio stations (so far, KAOS in Oly and WMBR at MIT in Cambridge have listed it). And of course it's available at Gargoyles, so you can grab one when you come to the art opening on the 19th!

10:29 pm - My new CDs are coming!
My new CD, "Bitter Sweet," is in the mail and should arrive early next week. I am very eager to see how they look. The CD is packaged in a digipak (folding cardboard case) designed by the wonderful artist Thea Maia. We've already gotten some posters printed with the same art and they look great - rich dark reds and lots of texture.
I have sound clips and pre-order info on my web site at http://www.maia-arts.com/music/bittersweet for anyone who wants to learn more.
Now I just have to finish up some promo materials... I have about 60 envelopes already addressed to radio stations and reviewers, and plan to dig up a few more...

06:29 am - Upcoming show with Soriah
I will be performing with Sataray, Danse Perdue, and the amazing Portland musician Soriah on Friday in Olympia. Soriah and Danse Perdue also have a Seattle show on Thursday.
-Thursday, January 14, 10 p.m.
-Friday, January 15, 8 p.m.
An Ankoku Butoh ritual performance journey at the Hall of the Woods, Olympia
celadon and Sataray
vox vespertinus with Vanessa Skantze of Danse Perdue
Soriah with Ashkelon Sain, Danse Perdue ensemble (Alex Ruhe, Vanessa Skantze, Kaoru Okumura, Lugh, Richard Woods, Meghann Nichols, Katrina Sataray, celadon, others TBA)
We will weave our bodies with these ancient/current songs to create a psychosonic realm where eternally recurring love, sacrifice and death sing through us... we open to what has come before as channel, we entwine with it within our skins to make new creatures and seek unfettered spacetimes.
Hall of the Woods is an especially beautiful and sacred space... we are deeply thrilled to create this evening inside it's charged walls. The performance will be a continuum of bodies taking a journey to the sounds of celadon and Sataray, vox vespertinus and Soriah

11:32 pm - finally found my way back
after a couple of years, I have re-joined the LJ insanity. Yet one more site to keep updated... but it seems like the only way to keep in touch with some folks.
I will probably be posting updates here about my new CD - oh yeah, I have a new CD coming out soon:
